Constitution And By-Laws Of The Winnipeg Fancy Pigeon Association.
Article I- Name
Section 1: The name of the organization shall be the Winnipeg Fancy Pigeon Assn. (W.F.P.A.) organized August 9,1945, Incorporated
1984.
Article III- Membership
Any individual interested in keeping and breeding pigeons and development, and agrees to abide by this constitution and
bylaws is eligible for membership. Memberships are divided into two separate classes,viz, Senior Members, Junior Members.
On this home page we'll introduce our organization and highlight important areas on our site. Membership information
Membership information
The Winnipeg Fancy Pigeon Association was established in 1945 with the purpose of promoting the raising and showing
pigeons. The association has grew year after year with our dedicated members who devote their quality time to their interest
in the fancy pigeon club called the Winnipeg Fancy Pigeon Association. Our club and make sure it evolves and goes strong and
doesnt go bankrupt and fold just like any major club or organization. Our club started out with a small amount of members
but as the years progress we build on a legacy and give our love to one of our hobbies called pigeons. Our association is
affiliated with both the Canadian Pigeon Fanciers Association (CPFA) and the National Pigeon Association (NPA) and supports
both national organizations in their promotion of the pigeon fancy.
The pigeon fancy is a hobby that recognizes 300+ breeds of pigeon and can be taken up as a casual pastime or with serious
dedication. Our association is therefore an all breeds club which welcomes fanciers of all levels of interest.
One fact that should be noted is that the pigeon fancy knows no gender, age, cultural or social economic bounds which
therefore is reflected that our members can come from all walks of life, but are joined in with the common interest of keeping
fancy pigeons. Most people consider having pigeons a joke because they have no idea how much fun it is to be involved with
a club and being around your friends who have the same interest as you or even just going out to shows and seeing competition
and being apart of history. Most of different club members pigeon lofts range from how small backyard coops are to extensive
dedicated buildings, all are equal at the regular monthly meetings where veteran fanciers freely support and share their knowledge
and experience with beginners.
In addition to the regular meetings our association provides usually of having a meeting every two months and discuss
certain aspects involving our club which comes from a variety of different subjects like: where the shows gonna be?, Whos
gonna be the Judge and discuss old and new business? As a webmaster I'm planning on putting a seasonal newsletter which will
consist in the four seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter. Our club is really dedicated with memebers who share knowledge
of how shows should be run and meetings and trying to teach and make the beginners gain more knowledge and get interested
in the hobby of pigeons.
The club shows work with us having two lawn shows in the summer which are 1 in July and another one in September and this
year in history will mark the 62nd W.F.P.A. Annual Winter Show at the Holy Cross Gymnasium at St. Boniface Church. The association
also participates in local fairs throughout the year and facilitates members attending other pigeon shows in Canada and the
United States. Our club welcomes any members or people who want to join or know more about the club to either contact us or
well see you down and the show and willing to answer any questions.
